Gym balls are extremely versatile offering a wide range of exercises and benefits. Just sitting on a gym ball alone engages your core muscle stabilisers and back muscles. It can be used in general gym work and core exercises, Pilates, Yoga and resistance training.

It has also been used in recent years for ‘active sitting’ which prevents lower back pain while sitting in one place for longer periods of time. Active sitting using a gym ball creates an unstable surface to sit on so that the body has to correct itself against gravity constantly.
